Book Delivery Service for Seniors

With the generous support of the Sandy Creek/Lacona Food Pantry delivery drivers, Ainsworth Memorial Library is very proud to offer book delivery service to senior citizens living in the Sandy Creek School District! Deliveries will begin Sat., June 20th and will be bi-weekly. If you or someone you know is a senior citizen seeking books to be delivered to your home, please contact the Library by email at or through a private Facebook message with your name, age, phone number, physical address, and the titles of books or genres that you want. The books are limited to only those available at our library since inter-library loans haven't started yet. To find specific library titles, please go to our online catalog at: and limit your search to "Sandy Creek Library" by scrolling it in the "Everything" box located in the upper left hand corner of the page.
Very special thanks to Kevin Allard and Alex Hager for making this possible!!

Library Outreach

The Library has been very busy working behind the scenes doing community outreach. We recently donated 100 care packages to the Sandy Creek/Lacona Food Pantry filled with puzzle books, coloring books, colored pencils, cookbooks, etc. for families and seniors in our community. We are now working on 30 care packages to distribute to the Oswego County Meals on Wheels Program for Sandy Creek residents. Special thanks to Peggy Manchester at the Sandy Creek/Lacona Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels for collaborating with us!

Supporting Children's Literacy

To promote and support children's literacy in our community during this challenging time, Ainsworth Memorial Library is committed to providing books to school-age children in our school district. So far, we have delivered 587 books to Sandy Creek Central School so that every student from Pre-K to 8th grade could have a book. Currently, we are working on providing homeschoolers in our school district with a book. To do this, we will be setting up a table in the Library's shed filled with children's books for various ages for homeschooling families residing within the school district to take. The date and time will be determined. Stay tuned!
